I saw a young mother with eyes full of laughter
And six little shadows came following after.
Wherever she moved, they were always right there-
Holding onto her skirts hanging onto her chair,
Before her, behind her - an adhesive pair.
"Don't you ever get weary as, day after day,
Your six little tag-alongs get in your way?"
She smiled as she shook her pretty young head,
And I'll always remember the words that she said.
It's good to have shadows that run when I run,
That laugh when I'm happy and hum when I hum -
For I only have shadows when my life is filled with sun.
I got this poem from my little sister who is such a wonderful Mother to her beautiful children. She is having her 3rd little angel this week and I can't help but feel some envy for her. I loved having my children. I love being with them. I love that my thirteen year old still loves to hold my hand and be next to me all the time. I love every morning when my 8 year old son wakes me up with a kiss right on my lips. I love when I sit down on the couch 6 little bodies hurry to get a seat next to me. Being a Mom is a dream come true for me. It truly has brought the sun into my life.
