If I could be like anyone in this world it would be like Grammie Greene. It was her 90th birthday party last weekend!! She is the most incredible woman I have ever met. She is always smiling and positive. She looks to the bright side of life. She has beat cancer and out lived 2 husbands. She always dresses so classy with all the accessories possible. Her positive, optimistic attitude has passed down through John's Mom and down to John who is a lot like his Grammie. She will party all night with us playing games till 4:00 A.M. She still lives alone and gardens and takes care of her roses and beautiful flowers. She is amazing. A few weeks ago Grammie came to visit us and see our new house. She took the tour, then in the kitchen she grabbed my hands and started to cry. She said to me..."Your home is beautiful, just beautiful. Just remember when you get what you want in life don't go looking for something else." She looked me right in the eye like... YOU KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!!!! She is so wise and kind and gentle. There will never be another Grammie in this world, she is one in a million and we love her so much. This is John's beautiful Mama, Beverly. She has the same, happy, optimistic spirit about her. John has always had such a special love for his Dear Grammie. One story he will never forget was when they were on there way to Disney Land when he was a little boy. They stopped to say goodby to Grammie and Grandpa Greene. When they left Grammie was so sad that she was going to miss the fun. She talked Grandpa into driving her to DisneyLand!!! When John's family pulled up to the park there was Grammie by the Disneyland sign just jumping up and down waving. She surprised them and they had so much fun with her that trip.
I love this family, we are all so different in our own way, but when we get together we put aside our differences and have such a blast. I feel very fortunate to have such great in laws.
